Reading glasses product photography
I am currently do some product photography of custom designed reading glasses. The reading glasses have been significantly modified and are very interesting works of art. It took some time to determine the lighting required, but once I got the lighting correct, the glasses photograph very well.
Product Photography
It’s been a very busy week here at Jon Loye Photography. We’ve been photographing portfolio designs for a marketing agency here in Red Wing, MN. The portfolio items include brochures, folders, CDs and cases, 3 ring binders, and material samples. Some items are straight forward to photograph. Other products are reflective, have embossing, or are extremely color sensitive. Its been a great challenge. Today we are photographing plastic cases for a case manufacturer. The final images will be used in sell sheets and a catalog.
Red Wing Shoe photo shoot
Yesterday I photographed my first 3 pairs of boots for Red Wing Shoe. We sent off proofs to their designers after the shoot, and they were thrilled with the images. I am very excited as there are a lot of new designs coming from them that will need to be photographed. Hopefully this will lead to more catalog photography assignments.
Location photography
I thought I’d take a minute and share some of locations I travel to outside of Red Wing, MN for commercial photography shoots. There are several companies in Lake City, MN that I have worked with, providing them with location shoots, studio photography, and digital retouching of some of their own images. Cannon Falls, MN is a newer market for me, but I have done location and studio shoots for several manufacturers. Hastings is another location I’ve done several industrial photography shoots. I’ve photographed a dental office and their employees in Rochester and several homes for builders. I’m also hoping to expand into River Falls and Hudson, WI.
Red Wing Holiday Stroll
This past Friday was the Holiday Stroll here in Red Wing, MN, and I was asked to photograph the event. We had roasted chestnuts, almonds, cotton candy, homemade chili, reindeer, a parade, and lots more. It’s a lot fun with carolers singing in the streets, kids enjoying Santa, reindeer, Mrs. Claus, and of course candy from the parade. We had nearly 11,000 people lining the streets of downtown to see the parade and watch the lighting ceremony. Great weather made it pleasant for everyone.
