I just wrapped up several shoots, including a group business portrait.  With four people to put into the portrait, it was tricky to get a position for everyone that looked nice.  I think the results are quite pleasing and the client was very happy with the results.  Check the business portraits of my website, www.jloye.com, to see the final image.

Senior Portraits

I received my senior portrait postcards last week.  With spring coming fast, hopefully phone calls from moms will start coming for their kids’ senior portraits.  I try to create a unique look for seniors, very simple without a lot of distracting colors.  I try to focus on just the subject and create very clean portraits, with some unique lighting that adds drama and interest.  My favorite portrait is the sax player with a black background so he is in a spotlight, like being on stage.  Check out my website, www.jloye.com for more samples.

Fairview Corporate photo shoot

The past two days I had the honor of working with David Sherman, a well accomplished commercial photographer (among other things, he is the lead photographer for the Timberwolves).  We worked together with some folks from Fairview Corporate on their photography for the annual report and other advertising pieces.  It was a humbling and intense experience working with someone of David’s experience and talent.  There were a total of about 14 different setups in the two days.  I was impressed with how simple David tried to keep very complicated lighting situations.  It was a great learning experience for me.
